Ik ben Robert Van Impe.

Snowboarden is zeker al één van mijn favoriete sporten.
Het glijden over sneeuw op hoge snelheid of het vliegen nadat je een jump hebt genomen is een zalig gevoel.
Dankzij een mooie foto of film ga je altijd dat gevoel kunnen houden.

Tijdens het jaar doe ik een soort van acrobatisch turnen (freerun). En tijdens de zomer ben ik monitor op een surfkamp. (Surfandbeachcamps) Dit heeft men sociale skills wat kunnen uitbreiden.

Ik zou zeer gaag willen meegaan om wat te kunnen snowboarden met mensen die ik tijdens de week zelf ga leren kennen. Er zullen zeker wat goede freestylers bij zijn die me dan wat kunnen bijleren. En in de avond natuurlijk vollenbak feesten. Een kater heb ik nooit, wat dus zeer handig kan zijn de volgende ochtend om er weer hard in te vliegen overdag.

Foto's trekken doe ik graag, het feit dat je van een beeld een heel verhaal kunt afleiden is super.

Dear Employees,

Due to the current financial situation caused by the slowdown of economy,Management has decided to implement a scheme to put workers of 40 years of age and above on early retirement. This scheme will be known as RAPE (Retire Aged People Early). Persons selected to be RAPED can apply to management to be eligible for the SHAFT scheme (Special Help After Forced Termination). Persons who have been RAPED and SHAFTED will be reviewed under the SCREW programme (Scheme Covering Retired Early Workers). A person may be RAPED once, SHAFTED twice and SCREWED as many times as Management deems appropriate.

Persons who have been RAPED can only get AIDS (Additional Income for Dependants & Spouse) or HERPES (Half Earnings for Retired Personnel Early Severance).

Obviously persons who have AIDS or HERPES will not be SHAFTED or SCREWED any further by Management.

Persons who are not RAPED and are staying on will receive as much S H I T (Special High Intensity Training) as possible. Management has always prided itself on the amount of S H I T it gives employees. Should you feel that you do not receive enough S H I T, please bring to the attention of your Supervisor.

Beste vrienden,
Bedankt om de tijd te nemen om deze email te lezen. Op het einde heb ik daarenboven een persoonlijke vraag.
Na lang beraad heb ik besloten me kandidaat te stellen voor de Vlaamse verkiezingen op 7 juni. Je zal me terugvinden op de 7de plaats op de lijst van Groen!.
Ik wil me als ondernemer en als vader nog meer engageren. Niet enkel als OCMW raadslid in Huldenberg, als bestuurslid in het Zoniën Athletics Team of als medeoprichter van Ello Mobile. Ook op regionaal vlak zijn er boeiende en dringende uitdagingen. Die kan ik enkel aanpakken met jouw hulp. Daarom vraag ik je stem op 7 juni.
Het is tijd voor actie, een groene New Deal.Als we een groene economie willen met een positieve impact op milieu en samenleving is het nu of nooit. Andere Europese landen zijn al met succes op de groene trein gesprongen. Zo zijn er in Duitsland de voorbije jaren reeds meer jobs gecreëerd in de hernieuwbare energiesector dan dat er jobs zijn in de automobielsector. Het bewijs dat het kan als men duidelijke keuzes maakt.
En daar gaat om. Visie en keuzes maken. De crisis waar we ons doorheen worstelen is niet alleen financieel-economisch maar ook sociaal en ecologisch. Een oplossing die gewoon terug de draad wil oppikken en verder wil op dezelfde manier, daar geloof ik niet in.
We moeten deze kans grijpen om te investeren in hernieuwbare energie, in onderzoek en groene technologie, in cradle-to-cradle productontwikkeling en productie in Vlaanderen, in een groot renovatieplan van bestaande woningen, in voedselproductie dicht bij huis, in efficiënter openbaar vervoer en zo veel meer. In die sectoren zullen onze KMO’s nieuwe opportuniteiten vinden en zo creëren we extra jobs op korte en langere termijn.
Groen! wil afstappen van het plan om van Vlaams-Brabant een logistiek knooppunt te maken. Ik vraag je om te kiezen voor minder beton, voor minder fijn stof, voor minder lawaai. Ik vraag je om samen met mij op te treden tegen de verbreding van de Brusselse Ring, tegen de geplande verdubbeling van het luchtverkeer tegen 2025 en tegen de bouw van een nieuwe afvalverbrandingsoven. Kies samen met mij voor meer open ruimte, meer levenskwaliteit en meer duurzame jobs in een groenere economie.
Daar wil ik werk van maken. En dat kan ik alleen maar met je hulp. Daarom vraag ik je stem op 7 juni.

On Saturday the children and parents from Els' class gathered to celebrate a wonderful year. The parents stressed the fact that their 2,5 year old had made so much progress in one year and that this would not have been possible without the help of a real PRO.

I cannot think of a much nicer tribute than this. Not even an Olympic medal can match this tribute. Anyway Els would not have like the Brabançonne.

Just came back from a week snowboarding with the kids. Being outside for a whole week always boost my energy level. I was without a PC and that really helped to clear my mind and prioritise the objectives for the quarter:

Over the last month, I became a victim of a clever scam while shopping. Simply going out to get home supplies has turned out to be quite traumatic and costly SCAM

Don't be naive enough to think it couldn't happen to you or your friends.!Here's how the scam works:Two good-looking 20-21 year old girls come over to your car as you are packing your shopping items into the trunk. They both start wiping your windshield with a rag and Windex, with their chest almost falling out of their skimpy t-shirts. It is impossible not to look. When you thank them and offer them a tip, they say "No" and instead ask you for a ride to another Colruyt or Delhaize. You agree and they get in the back seat.On the way, they start undressing. Then one of them climbs into the front seat and starts crawling all over you, while the other one steals your wallet.

I had my wallet stolen December 4th, 9th, 10th, twice on the 11th, and very likely again this upcoming weekend. So tell your friends to be careful. Thanks!

Perfect Sunday: Mood swings part II

Life is hard for a single father of 4 Children.
Woke up early and wrote some emails to people I love, worked on my blog, went into a research mode about mood swings and then was served breakfast in bed by my kids.

I'm peaking again ... :-)

I've been confronted with huge mood swings latelly. Looking at what is available on the internet it seems that I might have a version of "bipolar disorder" that doesn't have full manic episodes and that I should definitely have my thyroid hormone checked ??

I love my friends, over the years they saw how one day there would be no end to happiness and the next day no reason to get out of bed.

In fact for this patient it's more about mood peaks and valleys than swings.

6. Je je eigen oprit oprijdt en dan met je gsm belt om te zien of er iemand binnen is om de boodschappen mee uit je auto te laden...

7. Elke reclame-spot op tv een website vermeldt onderaan het scherm...

8. Je huis verlaten zonder je gsm, die je de eerste 20, 30 of zelfs veertig jaar van je leven niet gehad hebt, is nu reden om in paniek te raken en als een gek terug naar huis te keren om het verrekte ding op te halen...

10. Je 's morgens opstaat en eerst online gaat alvorens koffie te zetten...

11. Je je hoofd schuin begint te houden als je glimlacht... : )

12. Dat je dit allemaal al knikkend en lachend leest...

13. Erger nog, je weet precies naar wie je deze mail gaat doorsturen...

14. Je zelfs te bezig bent om te merken dat er geen nummer 9 is op deze lijst....

15. Dat je zelfs terug gescrold bent om te checken of er inderdaad geen nummer 9 IS !

EN DAT JE NU MET JEZELF ZIT TE LACHEN....

I went to the SAS Emea Headquarter for a training and discovered this wounderful city/region. The weather was beautiful and I decided to go there by bike. It was fun to drive around there, German drivers treat bikers with respect, what a pleasure.

The analogy between Sales and Surfing

Last week-end came as a welcome break in a 2 weeks sales training in the US. After having spend a few hours in the ocean, I started to feel some analogy between surfing and selling, or better put, trying to surf and trying to sell.

Here are some thoughts:

In order to catch the wave, you need to have the same speed as the wave.
The effort to take a short wave or a big one is the same.
Bigger waves do surf much better.
You should choose your wave carefully and not jump on the first one you see.
When you are tired you need to rest.
The good waves are not always where all the surfers are. (Surfers tend to flock together randomly)
Whatever you do there will always be people giving you advice from the beech or at least comment your actions amongst them.
The adrenaline rush when you are surfing and when you are closing a sales is the same.

However the analogy stops with following remarks:
You cannot surf 2 waves at the same time
In surfing, you cannot take over the credit of someone else.
Sales is not an individual sport.

I took up spinning yesterday in a desperate attempt to get fit. From now on, once a week I will spin me to a healthier life.

Problems with my shadow.

My shadow is going mad.
Personally I'm very much 'aware' of my appearance and have worked hard all my life to benefit from such a perfect shape. Recently I had noticed that my shadow was not looking after itself well enough, but once it got to Bracz, it really lost control of itself!
